Public Launch
On 16 September 2026, the Inspector-General of Water Compliance (the Inspector-General) initiated an inquiry into the measurement of non-urban water take in the Murray-Darling Basin under Part 10AB of the Water Act 2007 (Cth).
This inquiry will provide a Basin-wide assessment of whether existing non-urban water take measurement arrangements are accurate, consistent, transparent, and support the effective performance of statutory and agreement-based responsibilities.
